Car crashes are the most common cases we handle and the most commonly undervalued. The insurance company on the other side has a file open within a day, a recorded statement request ready, and a review process built to close claims cheaply. What decides the outcome is not how badly you were hurt in the abstract but how thoroughly the crash, the injury, and the connection between them are documented while that is still possible.
Modern cars record speed, braking, throttle, and seat belt use in the seconds before impact, and that data is gone once the vehicle is repaired or sold for salvage. We demand preservation and arrange inspection before that happens. We also canvass for footage, because traffic cameras, businesses, doorbell cameras, buses, and other vehicles capture far more than a responding officer collects, and most of it is overwritten within weeks. Alongside that we obtain the emergency call recording, the dispatch log, and the officer’s underlying notes, which often contain admissions and witness details that never make it onto the report.
Who owned the vehicle and why it was on the road matters as much as who was driving it. A car being used for work, a company vehicle, a rental, or a vehicle owned by a business changes the insurance picture substantially. We track down each policy that may apply before making any demand, because there is no point negotiating against a limit that turns out not to be the only one available.
After a crash there is a separate process for getting your treatment and wage loss paid while the case is pending, and it runs on forms and short filing windows that most people learn about only after something has gone wrong. We handle that side so bills do not go unpaid and treatment does not get interrupted, because an interruption in care becomes the centerpiece of the argument against you later. We also make sure your providers are documenting the injury properly rather than in shorthand.
You will be asked for a recorded statement, asked to sign broad medical authorizations, and eventually sent to a physician chosen and paid by the insurance company. None of these are neutral. We handle the requests, limit them to what is appropriate, prepare you for the examination, and then review the resulting report against the actual imaging and records rather than accepting its conclusions.
Once the vehicle is fixed or sold, and once the footage cycles out, the best proof of what happened is gone. Speak with us before giving a statement, signing anything, or releasing the car.
